We listen and understand the specific needs of our clients and deliver a complete value chain of services to provide sustainable solutions across major infrastructure projects worldwide.**The role**We are currently seeking a high performing Structures Manager to provide operational leadership, excellent technical delivery, and commercial support to our Bridges & Structures business. As the **Manager – Bridges & Structures, Brisbane** this is an opportunity to take **ownership of the business and drive growth** areas within the transport market in Queensland.The successful candidate will have highly competent management and business development (e.g. industry profiling activities; sourcing new clients; repeat work from existing clients) skills to expand the structures team capability in the region and source business opportunities to support the ongoing activities of a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy.With experience in managing teams and delivering technical excellence on major infrastructure projects, you will play a key role in:* Identifying, winning and delivering transport infrastructure projects* Contributing to the growth of the team through targeted client relationship management and business development activity* Managing the commercial performance of the team* Effectively managing and leading the team to ensure optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development* Providing input to projects at a project management and/or review level to achieve reliable project performance in terms of both timeliness and quality**The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:*** Ability to strategically plan* High level of commercial acumen* Genuine enjoyment drawn from building business, working with clients and winning work across ANZ* Extensive years of experience in the Transport sector delivering structural design* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline* Co-ordinated, designed and delivered major projects – with proven success* Co-ordinated and developed major bids – with proven success* Demonstrated ability to actively manage and drive performance in diverse teamsAs an inclusive and growing organisation, SMEC is committed to building a global community of talented professionals and thought leaders.We recognise the value and importance of a diverse and inclusive workplace and look for people with different backgrounds, skills and expertise to drive innovation and shared learning across our growing global network.**What we offer**When you join SMEC, you will have the opportunity to embrace your creativity and drive change across the business.
