Overview
Join us on our mission to make a better world of work. Culture Amp is the world’s leading employee experience platform, empowering 25 million employees across more than 6,500 companies to transform engagement, performance, and high-performing teams. We are backed by leading venture capital funds and have offices in the US, UK, Germany and Australia.
We’re seeking an experienced Staff Front End Engineer to join our Continuous Feedback team. You will help evolve how employees give and receive real-time feedback through intelligent, AI-supported experiences, influencing product direction and technical quality. As a Staff Engineer, you’ll shape how our front end engineering practice evolves within the Camp, with opportunities for impact beyond your immediate team.
Continuous Feedback is a core component of our Perform product, designed to deliver fair and actionable feedback to help develop individuals and teams. Our mission is to make feedback accessible, seamless, and valuable for all users—helping organisations build cultures where everyone can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical vision, architecture, and implementation of large-scale AI-supported front end solutions in React and Typescript, directly supporting critical product experiences in Continuous Feedback. This includes designing intuitive UIs for intelligent feedback analysis, surfacing relevant insights, and guiding user interactions.
- Champion the adoption of engineering best practices—including accessibility, quality, performance, and maintainability—drawing on Culture Amp’s unified Next.js-based front end stack and the Kaizen Design System
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to turn customer problems into product outcomes. Define, slice, and deliver features that make a real impact for managers and employees using feedback daily
- Act as a multiplier across teams: mentor, coach, and upskill fellow engineers. Contribute to cross-camp initiatives, solution previews, design reviews, and RFCs
- Lead efforts in both the ambiguous and the urgent: tackle complex, legacy technical challenges and navigate fast-changing product needs, providing clarity for others
- Influence and uphold the Continuous Feedback team’s engineering standards—owning system quality and supporting the ongoing evolution of how feedback is delivered, requested, and managed in our platform
Qualifications
- Significant, hands-on experience building and maintaining large-scale SaaS front ends using React, Typescript, and modern web technologies. Familiarity with Next.js, Storybook, and design systems (like Kaizen or comparable) is a strong plus
- Deep knowledge of web application architecture, performance optimisation, accessibility, and user-centric design. You are comfortable owning the quality and standard of solutions delivered
- A track record of technical leadership: shaping engineering practices or frameworks across teams, leading major technical initiatives, and coaching peers
- Strong sense of ownership—proactively identifying roadblocks, technical debt, and the next right steps for your team and the front end community at Culture Amp
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, design, research, backend), balancing fast delivery with scalable and maintainable solutions
- Thrives in ambiguity, brings clarity, structure, and technical leadership to new product spaces
- Passion for customer and user experience and a desire to transform how feedback is given and received at work
- Bonus: Experience with SaaS performance management, feedback, people or HR tech products
Benefits and Perks
- Employee Share Options Program: own a stake in Culture Amp
- Programs, coaching, and budgets to help you thrive personally and professionally
- Access to external providers for mental wellbeing and coaching support
- Monthly Camper Life Allowance to spend as you like
- Team budgets for team building and connection
- Quarterly wellbeing pauses for restoration and rest in each region
- Extended year-end breaks
- Excellent parental leave and in-work support starting from day 1
- 5 Social Impact Days per year
- MacBooks and a work-from-home office budget
- Medical insurance coverage for you and your family (US & UK only)
