Delaware North Australia is hiring casual Pastry Comm s Chefs to join our team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). As a Pastry Commis Chef, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior chefs to create dishes that make a lasting impression.

As the largest sporting stadium in the Southern Hemisphere, with a capacity of over 100,000, the MCG is renowned for hosting Australian Football League (AFL) games, international cricket matches, world‑class concerts, and exclusive events.

What will you do?

- Prepare a range of dishes in a high‑volume production setting

- Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards as well as cooking and prepare high quality pastry menu items including buffet, events, plated desserts & retail

- Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation

- Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area

- Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards including conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross‑contamination

More about you

- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef is required and proven experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred

- Solid background in kitchen operations

- Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding

- Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs
