Education Support Traineeship | Mainstream College

About the role
Working within a mainstream secondary school located in Melbourne’s East, this role will see the successful candidate working Parttime, Monday to Friday (30hrs per week) whilst completing a 12-month traineeship in Education Support.
Your role will be to assist secondary school students that require additional support to achieve their goals. You will work closely with teachers to support with planning and daily classroom activities and build strong relationships with students that will encourage them to thrive.
Whilst completing Certificate III in Education Support, you will be provided with hands-on experience to develop your knowledge of working with students with additional needs and have the opportunity to further progress your career once completed.

What you will be doing
- Complete training blocks within the school holidays
- Support teachers in planning lessons and daily classroom activities
- Provide one-on-one or small group academic help to students
- Assist students who need extra emotional & physical support
- Help manage student behavior in line with school policies
- Other tasks as directed
What we are looking for
- Great communication, engaging personality and people skills
- Patience, compassion and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Capable of providing physical and emotional support to students
- Passionate about education and completing a Cert III in Education Support
- Ability to complete training blocks within school holidays
- Current Working with Children’s Check or willing to obtain
- Willing to complete two-day volunteer trail
