Principal Technical Services and Estimating

Are you a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in mining operations? We’re seeking a Principal – Technical Services & Estimating to lead and influence high-impact projects across our contract mining portfolio.

About You

- Lead technical services and estimating functions across multiple mining projects.
- Drive operational excellence through innovative mine modelling and productivity initiatives.
- Mentor and coach technical teams to build capability and deliver value.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop commercially sound and technically robust solutions.
- Review feasibility studies, optimise schedules and designs, and review operational risk.
- Excellent knowledge of mining methods and equipment.
- Strong understanding of operational drivers that enhance productivity, efficiency, and client value.
- Proven relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident, analytical, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Sound knowledge of mine modelling to identify improvement opportunities.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical modelling capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a contract mining environment.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a track record of developing successful initiatives.
- Well-developed technical and operational mining skills.
- Strategic and lateral thinking capabilities.
- Broader management skills, including business development desired but not required.
- Passion for innovation and emerging technologies in mining and mining best practice.
- Previous experience in mine design, technical services and optimisation desired.
