Aula Energy is looking for an experienced community engagement manager to be the driving force behind building trust and fostering meaningful relationships with our communities and key external stakeholders.

In this delivery focused role, you will build our engagement strategy and framework, strategically plan engagement initiatives, foster strong external relationships, and implement systems to lead engagement ensuring the successful development and delivery of our renewable energy projects.

What you’ll do:

- Develop and maintain strong, respectful relationships with landholders, near neighbours, traditional owners, host communities, opinion leaders, Government, advocacy, and opposition groups
- Act as the primary liaison during project events, ensuring community voices are heard and addressed in a timely and empathetic manner
- Support project leads and build project team capability in external stakeholder management
- Work with our project teams to influence outcomes while also being across project activities to proactively plan engagement activities, including meeting programs, responding to relevant consultations, stakeholder mapping and community events
- Design and implement integrated stakeholder engagement plans with consideration to specific project dynamics
- Provide leadership with regular insights on stakeholder sentiment, emerging risks, and engagement outcomes, and advise on mitigation strategies
- Lead the development and execution of Social Impact Assessments, Social Impact Management Plans, and Community Benefit Agreements
- Drive, develop and implement engagement strategies and social action plans for key stakeholders and communities
- Anticipate and manage conflict through strategic planning and frontline engagement
- Deploy stakeholder management platforms (CRM tools) to track interactions, sentiment, and outcomes
- Build internal capability to respond effectively to stakeholder needs
- Conduct post-event reviews and stakeholder debriefs to embed lessons learned into future planning

Who You Are:

- A degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Business, or Public Relations or a related field
- Direct experience with a project developer, utility, energy or infrastructure business performing community engagement
- Experience building relationships with communities, key stakeholders and first nations communities, in collaboration with development and construction teams
- Experience in the development of onshore utility-scale renewable energy projects in Australia is highly desirable
- Demonstrated track record in influencing effective community engagement program design and delivery
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating community engagement across a portfolio of projects to support effective engagement execution
- An understanding of sustainability reporting requirements such as GRESB and SFDR Article 9
- Ability to drive and implement relevant ESG strategies at the project level
- Excellent communication skills to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Skilled at influencing across complex project structures to drive proactive engagement
- Strong emotional intelligence and conflict resolution abilities
- Adept at using qualitative and quantitative insights to anticipate ripple effects of decisions and messages
- Passionate about embedding empathy-driven engagement and continuous improvement into stakeholder strategies
