Ballarat, Australia Uniting Limited Full time

Your new role

As the Principal Strategic Advisor, you’ll lead and support the Central Highlands Integrated Family Violence Committee (CHIFVC), which brings together services across Ararat, Ballarat, Golden Plains, Hepburn, Moorabool and Pyrenees. Employed by Uniting as the auspice agency, you’ll work in close partnership with the CHIFVC Chair and members to deliver the Strategic Plan, provide leadership, and strengthen collaboration across the family violence, justice, housing, health, and community sectors. As a key connector within the family violence system, you’ll represent CHIFVC in local and statewide forums, contribute to reform priorities, and drive a more integrated and effective service system for the Central Highlands region. Your leadership will help create safer outcomes for victim survivors and foster stronger, more connected services across the community.

Benefits of working at Uniting

You’ll be based at our Lake Wendouree office, collocated with colleagues leading similar sector alliances in homelessness and family services, creating even greater opportunities for collaboration and impact.

You will also have access to:

- An extra 17.5% on top of your fortnightly pay when you take paid annual leave
- Up to $15,900 salary packaging to reduce your fortnightly tax and increase take-home pay.
- Save on dining out and drinks with a meal entertainment benefit of $2,650 annually.
- Increase your annual leave entitlements through our purchase leave program.
- Up to 10 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers (4 for secondary).
- Opt in or out of public holidays and be respected for your unique background.
- Receive a 60% discount on the childcare subsidy gap fee at Uniting Early Learning.

Your skills and experience

First and foremost, you will bring expertise and a deep knowledge of the Victorian family violence system, reforms, policies, and practice, including MARAM and Information Sharing Schemes.

You will also bring with you:

- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, governance, and facilitation, with experience building collaborative partnerships across government and community sectors.
- Proven strategic leadership experience, with the ability to influence reform and drive system-level initiatives across sectors.
- Expertise in project development, implementation, evaluation, and collective impact approaches, supported by research and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance competing demands and deliver evidence-based outcomes.
- High-level computer literacy for reporting, planning and project delivery.
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, plus a current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
