About the Team
The Retail Performance Team play a crucial role in ensuring the achievement of our financial performance targets for the retail business. They are responsible for day-to-day analysis and execution of competitive offer delivery, ensuring that EnergyAustralia’s strategy is implemented in a competitive and profitable manner.
About the Role
Reporting to the Retail Performance Leader, we are looking for a Commercial Analyst responsible for ensuring our offers are delivered in a competitive and profitable way balancing gross margin performance with long term profitable customer growth. This exciting new role will see you demonstrate a strong understanding of the competitive landscape, competitor activities and financial forecasting. Your ability to speak to data and present commercial recommendations will ensure quick responses to market dynamics and plans.
Other aspects of the role include:
- Develop and maintain models to assess in-market offer performance and forecast future value based on competitive scenarios
- Recommend the adjustment of market acquisition offers to ensure alignment with current market dynamics
- Oversee regular competitive analysis and market intelligence
- Own the delivery and forecasting of forward value, driving commercial outcomes
- Ensure all offers comply with relevant regulations across operating regions
- Deliver proactive insights into EnergyAustralia’s market performance, highlighting trends and competitor behaviour to guide strategic decisions
About You
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in a similar role, with a naturally curious mindset and passionate about driving improvements through smart approaches including understanding of managing in-market pricing and performance in a B2C environment. Other things we’re keen on include:
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Economics or equivalent energy career experience
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret market trends and capture value in fast-changing environments
- Advanced analytical skills, with experience in financial modelling, data analysis, and Power BI.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a collaborative approach to cross-functional engagement
