Position Information

Sunshine Bay Public School is a small, inclusive school with 187 students, 48 of whom identify as Aboriginal. The school offers a range of extra‑curricular activities and a supportive learning environment that encourages every student to shine.

Specific Selection Criteria:

- A highly visible, approachable and adaptable leader with proven ability to build a positive school culture based on authentic connections with all members of the school community, including parents and carers, to ensure a shared sense of belonging and purpose that supports excellence in every aspect of school life.

- Well‑developed skills and capability to foster and enhance a positive whole‑school wellbeing strategy that leads to a safe, inclusive and motivating teaching and learning environment.

- Demonstrated expertise to lead evidence‑based, innovative teaching practice that reflects a culture of high expectations to maximise learning outcomes for all students.

General Selection Criteria:

- High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.

- Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole‑school teaching and learning programs.

- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.

- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.

- Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.

- Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Conditions

Applicants must hold an unconditional full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education. If you do not hold a full approval to teach, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
