We are currently looking for an experienced Chef that can work effectively and efficiently under pressure to join our busy restaurant in Melbourne. Role and responsibilities: - Responsible for daily kitchen operation and supervising kitchen staff to the required standards set by management. - Ability to cook consistent quality food in accordance with Restaurant’s menu - Maintains proper consistency in food quality by monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation. - Check quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure the freshness and meet our restaurant’s standards - Ensure that all garnishing and sauces are cooked and prepared in accordance to the restaurant’s specifications. - Assist management to select and conduct training to new staffs - Effectively delegate jobs to junior chefs and apprentices - Responsible for orders and maintaining good stock and waste control. - Participate in menu development, recipe testing and evaluation - Maintain food costs according to budget - Assist management to estimate food and labour cost for budget purposes - Responsible for kitchen's cleanliness and adhere to safety requirements The successful applicant must have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in Indonesian West Sumatran cuisine - Excellent people and time management skills - A "can do" attitude in busy and fast paced environment - The ability to work independently and under pressure - Full work rights in Australia Our Offer: - Full time employment with rewarding salary $ 76,000 - 80,000 plus superannuation - Opportunity to grow, as we are in the process of expanding our business
