About the Role
Roza’s Kitchen is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to lead our kitchen team with experience in Modern Australian and Italian cuisine and mediterranean cuisine including catering. The role involves menu planning, food preparation, staff supervision, and maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency. Job Description
Position: Chef
Location of work: 147 City Road, Southbank VIC 3006
Employment Type: Permanent, full time.
Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 Plus Guaranteed Superannuation
Duties and Responsibilities:
o Plan, design, and prepare menus that reflect the restaurant’s style and meet customer expectations.
o Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality food preparation.
o Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff to maintain consistency and teamwork.
o Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control food costs to minimize waste and maintain efficiency.
o Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
o Monitor the cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas.
o Maintain quality control by checking the taste, presentation, and portion sizes of dishes.
o Collaborate with management on menu updates, seasonal specials, and new recipe development.
o Handle kitchen scheduling, task allocation, and performance monitoring of kitchen staff.
o Adapt menus and operations based on customer feedback and changing food trends.
o Work effectively under pressure during busy service hours while maintaining high standards.
o Support the overall goals of Roza’s Kitchen by ensuring customer satisfaction and efficient kitchen
Skills/ experience required:
o At least certificate IV in commercial cookery or higher.
o A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
