Senior Catering Attendant

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Cooks to join our busy catering unit at Melbourne Airport on a full-time basis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in catering or food production in a fast-paced environment working with a high attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Food meal plating, tray set, and packing of food carts
2. Ensure that presentation/weight specifications are adhered to
3. Strictly follow menu specifications and comply with Food Safety/HACCP guidelines
4. Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed and adhered to, maintaining a high standard of hygiene at all times
5. Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure that timelines are met
6. Understand and comply with internal policies and procedures
7. Move and lift items manually
8. Assist with and/or perform raw material preparation and cooking
9. Perform tasks such as baking, grilling, oven, and stove-top cooking
10. Skilled use of knives and machinery
11. Proficient in all airline equipment requirements, stowage, and food presentations
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
1. Demonstrated experience of working in a food environment
2. Basic knife skills
3. Fine motor skills
4. Knowledge of HACCP/QSAI/Food Safety and OHS
5. Prior experience with airline catering (highly regarded) and service-oriented
6. Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
7. Prior experience in a HALAL working environment and knowledge regarding segregation and separation of equipment highly regarded
8. Strong communication skills
9. Ability to work across a 7-day rotating roster
10. As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
