We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Cooks to join our busy catering unit at Melbourne Airport on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in catering or food production in a fast paced environment working with a high attention to detail.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For

• Food meal plating, tray set and packing of food carts
• Ensure that presentation / weight specifications are adhered to
• Strictly follow menu specifications and comply with Food Safety / HACCP guidelines
• Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed and adhered to, maintaining a high standard of hygiene at all times
• Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure that time lines are met
• Understand and comply with internal policies and procedures
• Move and lift items manually
• Assist with and/or perform raw material preparation and cooking
• Perform tasks such as baking, grilling, oven and stove-top cooking
• Skilled use of knives and machinery
• Proficient in all airline equipment requirements, stowage and food presentations
  
  

What do you need to be successful in securing this role?

• Demonstrated experience of working in a food environment
• Basic knife skills
• Fine motor skills
• Knowledge of HACCP / QSAI / Food Safety and OHS
• Prior experience with airline catering (highly regarded) and service oriented
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
• Prior experience in a HALAL working environment and knowledge regarding segregation and separation of equipment highly regarded
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work across a 7-day rotating roster
• As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
