Overview

Join the Coaching Team at Balmain Rowing Club (BRC), with a proud 142-year legacy on Sydney Harbour. We’re expanding our coaching team to support a newly designed and inclusive rowing pathway.

Coaching Opportunities

We’re hiring Coaches & Coxswains. Flexible hours, pathway coaching, mentorship available. $40–70/hour (based on experience).

- Get Regatta Ready – For those transitioning into competitive rowing.
- Masters Performance – For experienced rowers looking to sharpen their edge and commit to structured training.

We’re looking for coaches who can guide crews stroke by stroke with technical precision, foster a positive team culture, and work within a clearly structured program.

Requirements

- Rowing Australia Level 1 or 2 coaching accreditation
- Proven experience coaching adults or masters crews
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

Coxswain Opportunities

$30–50/session

Work with engaged Masters crews | Contribute to race strategies

As a coxswain at BRC, you’re more than just a voice in the boat — you’re a strategist, motivator, and an integral part of our on-water success. You’ll work closely with coaches across both programs:

- Get Regatta Ready
- Masters Performance

You Bring

- Coxing experience (regatta experience highly regarded)
- The ability to motivate, steer, and execute training and racing strategies
- A team-focused attitude and clear communication skills
