Job Description

Position Overview:

As the Aged Care General Managerof our Penrith facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services, whilst overseeing the day-to-day operations of the aged care facility. You will work closely with senior leadership, staff, and residents' families to create a positive and compliant environment where both residents and staff thrive. The role requires strong leader with excellent operational management skills, a passion for aged care, and a deep understanding of regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, manage, and mentor a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective staffing, training, and development.

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with industry regulations.

- Manage the facility’s budget, resources, and finances, ensuring sustainability and financial viability.

- Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery, resident satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

- Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders, promoting a positive community presence.

- Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, legislative requirements, and accreditation processes.

- Lead quality assurance initiatives and risk management protocols to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

- Drive the facility towards the requirements of the New Aged Care Act

Person

- Visionary Leadership: A senior leader with a proven background in aged care or community services and experience in developing impactful, resident-focused lifestyle programmes.

- Passion for Aged Care: A heartfelt commitment to improving the quality of life for aged care residents, with a strong understanding of aged care standards and compliance.

- Exceptional Communication Skills: An inspiring communicator adept at building trust, engaging residents and families, and fostering a collaborative environment.

- Strategic and Innovative Mindset: A big-picture thinker with the ability to anticipate future needs, embrace new approaches, and implement best practices in and community engagement.

Key Requirements

- Proven experience in a senior management role within the aged care or health care sector.

- Strong knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, accreditation processes, and regulatory requirements.

- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Demonstrated financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets and resources.

- A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice in aged care.

- A tertiary qualification in health, aged care management, or a related field is highly desirable.

- Current police check and working with children check.
