The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for providing expert technical services in relation to implementing, managing, operating and supporting high performance technology infrastructure development, design and operations for the Westpac Group. Responsibilities - Provide technical support in the implementation “Work Packages” for Projects - Provisioning of new and existing switching infrastructure within the Bank’s Data Centres - Remediate the Risk of “End of Life” infrastructure and manage the capacity of existing switching infrastructure with the Banks Data Centres - Provide Detailed Design and Technical review of network changes and troubleshoot any network related issues - Implementation of Network Changes in relation to the Work Packages defined for a project. - Drafting and Coordination of the CIP – Change Implementation Plan related to Change. What do I need? - Advanced knowledge and skills and experience in Switching and Routing - Cisco Infrastructure in particular. - Expert level working knowledge of the following: VXLAN, EVPN, VPC, Routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF and the Cisco deployment Toolset such as NDFC - Good understanding of Technical Devops model, scripting languages such as Python Ansible and the ability to program and use these in relation to API’s - Good understanding of Automation platforms and Orchestration Tools. - Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and resolve in timely manner using Tools such as Wireshark and packet traces and debug analysis. - Ability to work with Project Managers to scope and plan technical work deliverables and the timeframes involved. - Provide detailed design documentation when required.
