For staff development. Environmental Services Assistant Your primary responsibility is to uphold cleanliness throughout the hospital, ensure ensuring a safe environment for patients, family, visitors and staff. A critical aspect of this role involves executing cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. This practice is essential for controlling and preventing the spread. Healthcare associated infections by ensuring a secure and sanitised facility. Environmental service systems are also involved in the internal patient transfers within the Children's Hospital at Westmead made, the helipad to Westmead Adult Hospital. Additionally, duties include distribution of the portable oxygen cylinders, assist with moving large furniture and equipment, and the management of waste disposal.

What you'll be doing

The Environmental Services Assistant position will provide support to the nursing team in non-clinical care of the patient regarding patient lifting and transportation. They will be an active team member and support emergency response teams, collection and delivery of specimens, equipment, consumables, restocking of supplies and consumables.

The position will also be required to undertake cleaning and waste duties as assigned, may including general cleaning, terminal cleaning of internal areas and external areas to ensure a high level of cleanliness is provided and maintained in all areas of the hospital grounds to minimise health care associated infections.
