Council of the City of Sydney, Australia Interflow Full time

About Us

With over 85 years of tangible impact, we have carved out our place as a leader in water infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand. Embrace the opportunity to be part of our dynamic team creating the future of water for generations to come. Your expertise and dedication will play a pivotal role in our continued success and be a driving force in our journey towards a water-resilient world.

The Opportunity

As an Environmental Specialist, you’ll play a key role in shaping the environmental and sustainability outcomes of our projects right from the start. This is your chance to influence how we design and plan our work, embedding sustainable practices, minimising environmental impact, and helping us achieve our Net Zero and Circular Economy goals.

You’ll work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, designers, and customers, to identify environmental risks and opportunities and translate them into practical, effective solutions. Your advice and expertise will guide project decisions, ensuring we deliver outcomes that protect the environment, meet regulatory and customer expectations, and align with Interflow’s Sustainability Framework.

If you’re passionate about driving sustainability through design and innovation, and you enjoy working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across diverse and challenging infrastructure projects.

You will bring:

- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline

- Solid experience in construction, utilities or infrastructure environment roles

- Demonstrated ability to identify and manage environmental issues associated with the planning and delivery of design and construct projects (pre-delivery)

- Experience preparing or reviewing CEMPs and environmental documentation for major projects

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholder groups
