The role of a Strategic Business Development Manager is a strategic linchpin for 1Streetworks, a company positioned as the most disruptive traffic management planning solution to enter the UK highways market in over three decades. This position is not merely a sales function; it is a mandate to drive industry modernisation and secure sustainable, high-value, long-term contracts with enterprise-level clients. The individual in this role is tasked with leveraging a unique, automated software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to address a critical market failure—a lack of resources leading to low-quality and unsafe streetworks. The Role:The Strategic Business Development Manager is a high-impact, strategic role responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion for 1Streetworks. Working with the Business Development Director, This role requires an experienced individual who can identify and secure new business opportunities with large-scale, enterprise clients, including utility companies, government bodies, and transportation organisations. The candidate will be a strategic "hunter," responsible for cultivating a robust sales pipeline, negotiating high-value contracts, and building foundational relationships that will accelerate 1Streetworks' market penetration. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with corporate growth objectives. - Identify, prospect, and secure new enterprise-level clients within target sectors, including utility, government, and transportation. - Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and opportunity qualification to contract negotiation and deal closure. - Build and maintain strategic, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers at prospective client organisations. - Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations that articulate the financial and operational value of the 1Streetworks solution. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and customer success to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives. - Provide market intelligence and strategic feedback to senior management, offering insights on market trends, the competitive landscape, and client needs. Essential Skills & Qualifications: - Proven experience in business development, enterprise sales, or a related role within a B2B SaaS or technology environment. - Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets and driving significant business growth. - Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles. - Expert-level negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. - Strong strategic planning and market analysis capabilities. - Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and pipeline management. - Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is highly preferred.
