Overview

Coordinator - Community Wellbeing (12 Month Contract, Maternity Leave)
Tamworth, NSW

- Exciting Opportunity to Lead Our Inclusive Community Team to deliver range of programs to Tamworth and surrounding communities.
- Contribute to the community through sustainable management of community facilities and coordination of resources.
- Support the requirements of the area by monitoring emerging social concerns and necessities, then identifying and ranking suitable measures to address them.

Council are seeking a motivated individual with tertiary qualifications in Community Development/Social Science. You will have the ability to communicate and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders while leading and managing a team.

Responsibilities

- Leading a team of multi-disciplinary community development professionals who support a range of community sectors and vulnerable groups across the Tamworth region.
- Monitoring the Tamworth region for emerging social issues and needs, and determine and prioritise appropriate action.
- Ensuring the sustainable management of community facilities in the unit’s portfolio, including efficient coordination of resources and delivery of community development programs.
- Developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the units’ respective policies, strategic plans, and facility activation plans, to meet the future needs of the community, in alignment with Council’s Blueprint 100.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in a similar role particularly with experience in leading a team in the development and delivery of high quality community services
- Demonstrated experience in drafting, implementing and delivering project plans e.g. Disability Inclusion Action Plan, Reconciliation Action Plan.
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Development/Social Science and/or Public Policy or a related field
- The ability to communicate and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- A current driver’s licence

This position has been classified as Grade 21 with a salary range of $125,912.11 - $136,248.69 per annum plus superannuation and a leaseback vehicle for 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.

This position is ‘Child-Related Employment’ and it is an offence for a prohibited person to apply. All applicants are required to possess a Working with Children Clearance.
