The key duties of the position include
We are seeking an experienced Director to fill a leadership role with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
As a Director, you will have strong leadership capability, a deep understanding of corporate performance, governance, and experience with senior stakeholder relationship management.
Through strategic leadership you will lead one of three of the ACNC's objectives which is to promote the reduction of unnecessary regulatory obligations on the sector. You'll also lead a broad range of corporate functions including planning, reporting, financial management, and people and culture. Several of these functions (particularly Human Resources) are supported via the ACNC's business partnering model with the ATO, and you will lead this ongoing relationship management.
Through effective corporate and financial management, you will oversee budgets, internal and external reporting, Memorandum of Understandings, procurement and contract management, and compliance with legislative obligations. You'll foster an inclusive workplace culture, lead change, and ensure compliance with legislative and policy frameworks.
You will be pivotal in shaping agency-wide initiatives and representing the organisation on complex issues and in senior forums. You'll work closely with the Executive team, establishing and maintaining strong, productive strategic relationships with key internal and external partners (e.g. charities, their advisers, the ATO and other government regulators) to negotiate and achieve business outcomes.
You will build team capability through mentoring and coaching arrangements and engage others to develop and implement solutions.
The Director is one of three that forms part of the ACNC's Operations and Engagement portfolio whose functions include service delivery (a multi-channel contact centre), policy (with a particular focus on reducing red tape within the charity sector), regulatory education and engagement, media and government relations along with corporate and reporting.
