Are you passionate about enabling engineering teams to deliver their best work? We’re looking for a Portfolio Manager to coordinate work allocation and lead a group of engineers across multiple teams. You’ll focus on matching skills to demand, supporting career growth, and ensuring sustainable delivery practices. This is a people leadership role with strong portfolio coordination responsibilities—not a coding role and not an executive position.
What you’ll do
- Lead workforce orchestration across multiple engineering teams, ensuring smooth allocation of work.
- Maintain a rolling capacity and skills inventory to support planning and delivery.
- Assign engineers to projects with clear timelines and minimal disruption.
- Coordinate AU↔IN handovers and ensure sustainable utilisation.
- Manage and coach engineers, supporting performance and career development.
- Drive onboarding quality and team engagement initiatives.
- Enforce process guardrails and publish weekly operational metrics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve conflicts and improve delivery flow.
What makes you a great fit
- Experience managing engineers or technical professionals—not just project teams.
- Strong stakeholder management across delivery, product, and vendor teams.
- Skilled in capacity planning, conflict resolution, and transparent communication.
- Familiarity with engineering lifecycles (software, platform, SRE) and delivery practices.
- Comfortable using scheduling and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Planview).
- Ability to uphold SLAs and quality gates for internal and external engineers.
- Commitment to inclusive leadership and sustainable team culture.
- Continuous improvement mindset with bias‑aware decision-making.
