This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic leadership, financial stewardship, and operational excellence with purpose, helping us build homes and communities that will change lives for generations to come.Your key responsibilities will be to:* Lead the strategy, business planning, and execution of the Mission Australia Housing Queensland SPV to achieve long-term sustainability and growth.* Oversee the delivery of housing construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.* Drive positive tenancy and asset management outcomes through effective service agreements and regulatory compliance.* Manage senior and sub-debt loan obligations, refinancing, and hedging strategies to ensure sound financial performance.* Ensure compliance with the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH), state housing policies, and partner contract obligations.* Deliver strong financial outcomes in line with approved budgets and strategic objectives.* Provide effective leadership to the SPV team, fostering a values-based culture, innovation, and high performance.* Report to and support the Mission Australia Housing Boards, providing timely, accurate information and strategic recommendations.**Requirements for success*** Tertiary qualification in law, property, commerce, finance, business, or a related discipline.* Significant senior leadership experience (10+ years) in commercial or project management, ideally with exposure to PPP-style projects, project finance, or community housing.* Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret and manage complex financial models, budgets, and forecasts.* Proven track record of delivering large, complex construction or property development projects within tight timeframes.* Expertise in contract negotiation, compliance management, and stakeholder engagement at senior levels.* Deep understanding of government decision-making processes, housing policy, and regulatory frameworks (including NRSCH).* Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, drive change, and foster a values-based, collaborative culture.* Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with experience engaging boards, executives, and external partners.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.**Your benefits*** Rewarding work – every day you know you’re making a real difference* Not-for-profit salary packaging, reducing your tax (details via )* Free external, confidential counselling and access to* Volunteering opportunities* Opportunity to purchase additional annual leave* Extra leave including: Mission Australia Thank You Day & Work Anniversary Day off**Our culture**Our innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.We prioritise the safety and wellbeing of everyone, both within our team and the individuals we serve.We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.
