About the role

Are you ready to be a part of something sweet? At CherryHill Orchards, we’re gearing up for another fantastic cherry season, and we’re looking for forklift operators to join our team for the season October 2025 – January 2026 starting soon If you’re passionate about fresh produce and skilled in operating forklifts to ensure smooth operations in a packing facility, this role is perfect for you.

As a Forklift Operator, your role is crucial to our smooth and efficient operations You’ll take charge of safely operating forklifts, ensuring that palletised orders are loaded for dispatch, raw products are unloaded, and everything is distributed accurately throughout the warehouse.

With your sharp attention to detail and strong safety mindset, you’ll keep our operations running. You’ll collaborate with various departments across the packing facility, including the pack down cool room, to ensure everything is in its right place.

We are located in the beautiful Yarra Valley, just one hour from Melbourne’s CBD, and also have a role available in North Regional Victoria.

There are 3 positions available:

- 2 in the Yarra Valley area
- 1 in North Regional Victoria

What you will be doing

- Operating the forklift safely, ensuring products are stored, handled, and transported without physical damage.
- Following instructions for loading and unloading raw product and packaging.
- Driving the forklift safely in marked shared zones (including pedestrian crossings), adhering to the Traffic Management Plan and following instructions from the line manager. This includes driving in and out of cool rooms.
- When forklift operation is not required, be flexible and assist other areas of the business as needed.

What we are looking for

- Highly attention to detail is a must
- Exceptional communication skills in English both verbal and written
- Excellent time management
- Follow safe work procedures, instructions and company policies
- Demonstrated ability to organise and work as part of a high-performance team
- Ability to work efficiently with some supervision

About you

- You must hold a current Driver’s license & own transport.
- YOU MUST hold a Victorian forklift license
- At least 1 year’s experience operating forklift in warehouse and/or fast paced environments
- You have a good command of English and can communicate effectively using two-way radios. Being multilingual is a plus
- Experience in working in a fresh food handling facility is a bonus
- You understand Workplace Health & Safety responsibilities
- Must be available on weekends, flexible with shift scheduling and can commit to the full season
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Capable of lifting 15 kg and comfortable standing for extended periods
- Committed and reliable, with the ability to travel to the primary work location in the stunning Yarra Valley area

Applicants must have work rights in Australia (including Working Holiday Visa holders, Australian Permanent Residents, and Australian Citizens). We’re eligible to sign off on visa day extensions for Working Holiday Visa holders.
