About the role
Our Mechanical and Pipelines team in Brisbane is at the forefront of growth – we have loyal and engaged clients and a strong pipeline of work. With a strong culture of supportive teamwork we encourage collaboration and developing client-focused solutions together.

Responsibilities
- Delivering project requirements according to agreed schedules consistent with Verbrec and client’s quality standards.
- Maintaining mechanical engineering standards across all projects.
- Providing technical guidance to junior engineers and peers.
- Recommending improvements to engineering systems and processes.
- Continuously developing industry networks and contacts.
- Working with our clients to help identify efficiency opportunities and reach decarbonisation (ESG) targets.
- Having an opinion, challenging the norm, and providing constructive feedback wherever possible.
About you
You will be capable of working with a close-knit team of engineers, designers and project engineers to deliver projects to an excellent standard. As a professional engineer you will offer:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design of oil, gas and energy, terminals or refining.
- Proven Australian experience in oil and gas, mining, refining, terminal, tank farm or bulk fuel distribution.
- A deep understanding of relevant design codes such as ASME B31.3, AS 4041, API 650, ASME VIII or AS 2885.
- Experienced in pipe stress analysis (AutoPIPE or Caesar II).
- Site, fabrication or construction experience is viewed positively but not essential.
- CPEng / RPEQ or equivalent, or near completion.
- You are a great team player, with the ability to work within or guide teams.
- Ability to perform engineering tasks with minimal supervision.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent writing skills including report development.
- Ability to manage your time and work independently.
