About the position
Join La Trobe University’s Finance, Procurement and Data Analytics Division and play a key role in supporting our day-to-day Procurement Operations and Business Services.
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to provide vital operational support across procurement processes, including vendor and purchase order maintenance, corporate card administration, travel and fleet coordination.
You’ll be part of a collaborative and customer-focused team that values initiative, accountability, and continuous improvement. This is a great opportunity to build on your procurement or finance experience, develop your skills in a large, dynamic environment, and contribute to delivering quality service across the University.
This position supports hybrid working arrangement, allowing the employee to work remotely up to two days per week in line with operational requirements.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- Possession of relevant qualifications and/or relevant experience in procurement and business operations, including activities such as purchase requisitioning, vendor onboarding, corporate card management, fleet management, and travel support.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and customer service skills
- Experience with procurement and financial systems (e.g. SAP or similar)
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with great communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Be self-motivated, solution-orientated, and have a positive can-do attitude.
- Organised, dependable, focused, and disciplined.
- Competency with productivity tools (Microsoft Office e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- A current driver’s licence is preferred for ad hoc fleet logistic tasks but not essential.
