Overview

Senior Red Team Security Consultant - Offensive Assurance. Location: Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane (Hybrid).

Our client, a leading national cyber-security services provider, is seeking an experienced Senior Red Team / Penetration Testing Consultant to lead and deliver high-impact offensive security engagements.

You will design and execute sophisticated red-team operations, emulate real-world adversaries, and provide actionable insights that help major enterprise clients strengthen their defences. This senior role offers the chance to shape offensive security strategy and mentor the next generation of testers.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead Complex Engagements: Plan, scope and deliver advanced red-team and penetration-testing assignments, including External, Internal, Web/API, Cloud, Mobile, Social Engineering and Physical intrusion assessments.
- Advanced Exploitation & Reporting: Conduct manual and automated testing, develop custom exploits, and deliver clear, business-focused reports with remediation guidance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary technical contact, confidently communicating attack narratives and risk to both technical and executive audiences.
- Tool & Methodology Development: Research and create offensive tools and techniques to stay ahead of emerging threats.
- Team Development: Mentor junior consultants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Pre-Sales & Advisory: Assist with proposals, client briefings, and the growth of the offensive security practice.

What We're Looking For

- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in penetration testing or red-team operations across complex enterprise environments.
- Certifications: One or more of OSCP, OSCE, OSEP, CREST CCT (Infrastructure/Web), GXPN or equivalent.
- Technical Depth: Strong offensive skillset across network, application and cloud environments; familiarity with adversary-emulation frameworks (e.g., Cobalt Strike, Metasploit, Sliver).
- Coding/Scripting: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or similar for exploit development and automation.
- Communication & Leadership: Ability to translate technical findings into clear business risk and lead projects end-to-end.
- Security Frameworks: In-depth understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP, and related standards.
