As our Vendor Manager, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and executing Medibank’s supplier relationship strategy by building effective frameworks that enhance supplier performance, mitigate risk, and align with our business goals.
You’ll lead efforts to optimise vendor performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage third‑party risks, all while continuously refining how we partner with suppliers to power operational success.
This important role will also be responsible for third party risk management, contract management and driving strategic initiatives to enhance the organisation’s supplier ecosystem.
Where You Can Make a Difference:
- Foster strong relationships with key suppliers and internal teams to support the cross‑functional performance of those suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and risk management frameworks (e.g., APRA, CPS230, ISO 27001).
- Monitor trends in the market to ensure you are staying up to date with best practise in the industry.
- Work closely with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to review contractual terms and implement necessary changes.
- Develop a centralised view of supplier management activities, providing visibility into outstanding actions and supplier risk.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, risk, IT security) to streamline the end‑to‑end workflows and clarity on accountabilities ensuring governance, risk management, and contract compliance.
- Support the operational teams with account analysis and reconciliation activities ensuring spend is within budget.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Strong experience in Customer Experience (CX), Technology (IT) and/or Finance supplier management, procurement or contract management.
- Significant experience in supplier performance management and governance frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of APRA regulations, third‑party risk management and compliance.
- Exceptional relationship‑building skills to and ability to maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Experience in contract negotiations, supplier evaluations and dispute resolution.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data‑driven insights to drive vendor performance.
- Stellar communication skills for engaging with Executives and key decision‑makers.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to change and work in ambiguous environments.
- Previous experience working in financial services, insurance or an APRA regulated environment will be highly regarded.
