What you'll do: As an Accountant within this respected financial services organisation, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance team’s day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will span across accounts payable management, client billing support, maintenance of financial records, month-end reporting activities, regulatory submissions such as BAS preparation, and annual audit assistance. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards while contributing to process improvements and budget analysis initiatives. Working closely with experienced colleagues under supportive leadership, you will have ample opportunity to develop your skills further through hands-on involvement in diverse projects. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will be essential as you help maintain smooth financial operations throughout the year. - Assist with daily finance team tasks and operational accounting activities, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. - Support accounts payable processes by managing vendor relationships and resolving any payment-related queries promptly. - Participate in the creation of billing packs for clients, serving as a key contact for client billing enquiries and providing timely resolutions to issues. - Maintain accurate financial records and documentation through diligent processing of routine accounting transactions and entries. - Perform journal reconciliations during month-end activities to ensure the integrity of financial data across all accounts. - Conduct inter-company reconciliations and resolve discrepancies by collaborating closely with internal stakeholders. - Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and reports, contributing valuable insights for management review. - Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) to the Australian Taxation Office while completing ABN-related forms and applications as required. - Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulations by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax requirements.
