About the role
Based in a newly established facility in inner city Melbourne, Australia, you will work closely with the Chief Product Officer to drive forward investigative and scientific efforts in product development from conception, through to design, planning and application of new products.
The role encompasses recognising and providing solutions through all phases of the product development pipeline from concept ideation through to transfer to manufacturing, whilst providing input and practical support for all innovation and R&D activities alongside the rest of the scientific team.
Key responsibilities
- Conceive, design and contribute to product research/development and applications.
- Develop and contribute to quality control workflows for IonOpticks products.
- Research and develop new quality control workflows to improve efficiency/ precision/ accuracy and broaden scope.
- Contribute to the production of marketing materials (written, conference, seminar, social media).
- Present research reports at relevant internal and external meetings.
- Assist with the maintenance of high-quality standards and ensure that quality issues are dealt with swiftly in collaboration with Production and Product Development.
- Work independently or collaboratively with team members and external collaborators to achieve development goals.
- Contribute to company-wide training and broadening of skill sets related to LC-MS
- Support sales, marketing and promotional initiatives from a technical perspective, as required.
Key selection criteria
- 4+ years’ experience in the use of liquid chromatography, ideally in the context of LC-MS.
- Strong evidence of original intellectual input into research and applications.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability and likelihood of continued excellence and productivity in workflow and application development.
- Proven record of being a fast learner, flexible, excellent communicator and mindful team member.
- Ability to adapt to a fast‑moving company and dynamic work environment. Hands on and down‑to‑earth mentality.
- Evidence of contribution to the stimulation of learning and interest in the discipline.
- An ability to code in R and/or Python will be highly regarded.
