A unique opportunity has arisen for a Recruitment Scribe to play a pivotal role in supporting selection panels across the Queensland Public Sector. What you'll do: As a Recruitment Scribe – Queensland Public Sector Compliance Specialist, you will be at the heart of the recruitment process, providing impartial support to selection panels by meticulously recording assessment outcomes and preparing legally defensible documentation. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will involve attending interviews and assessment activities, capturing objective notes that reflect both candidate responses and panel discussions. You will synthesise complex information into clear Selection Reports that justify hiring decisions based on merit principles. In addition to drafting these critical documents, you will conduct referee checks, coordinate administrative tasks with the Panel Chair, manage confidential records securely, and ensure every step aligns with legislative requirements. Success in this role hinges on your ability to maintain rigorous standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical conduct while facilitating smooth communication between stakeholders. - Attend all assessment activities, including interviews and work sample sessions, to accurately record detailed notes of candidate responses and panel deliberations. - Ensure all documentation practices strictly adhere to Queensland Public Sector Ethics Principles and the latest Recruitment and Selection Directive, maintaining a clear audit trail for every decision made. - Operate as an impartial observer during assessments, guaranteeing that all notes reflect an unbiased account of the process and evidence gathered against selection criteria. - Prepare comprehensive Selection Reports that form the legal basis for employment decisions, clearly identifying the most meritorious candidates based on key capabilities. - Provide comparative assessments of recommended candidates’ strengths and weaknesses relative to other applicants, justifying final panel recommendations. - Include mandatory declarations in all reports, such as statements regarding conflicts of interest among panel members. - Conduct targeted referee checks for recommended candidates, thoroughly documenting feedback to validate panel assessments. - Assist the Panel Chair with administrative tasks such as scheduling interviews and managing candidate queries professionally and promptly. - Uphold Human Rights Act 2019 considerations throughout the recruitment process, ensuring fairness and respect for all participants. - Manage sensitive personal information securely in accordance with QPS security protocols and the Information Privacy Act 2009. What you bring: Your proven experience as a Recruitment Scribe – Queensland Public Sector Compliance Specialist will be evident through your deep understanding of merit‑based recruitment principles within government settings. You bring exceptional written communication skills that allow you to distil complex discussions into clear reports ready for review by decision‑makers. Your commitment to ethical standards ensures every aspect of your work is conducted with integrity and confidentiality. You have demonstrated success in supporting selection panels by providing impartial documentation throughout assessment activities. Your familiarity with legislative frameworks governing public sector recruitment enables you to navigate compliance requirements confidently. Additionally, your organisational abilities facilitate seamless coordination of administrative tasks while maintaining secure handling of sensitive information. Your interpersonal skills foster positive collaboration with panel members, candidates, and stakeholders alike. - Demonstrated working knowledge of Queensland Public Service merit criteria and principles as legislated in the Public Service Act 2008 and associated Directives. - Proven ability to rapidly synthesise complex information into succinct, professional written documents suitable for immediate submission to decision‑makers. - Highly developed understanding of strict ethical standards required within the public sector environment, including confidentiality and probity. - Experience attending assessment activities such as interviews or work samples and accurately recording objective notes reflecting both candidate responses and panel deliberations. - Ability to prepare comprehensive Selection Reports that clearly identify meritorious candidates based on key capabilities while providing comparative assessments against other applicants. - Familiarity with mandatory declarations related to conflicts of interest within selection panels. - Experience conducting targeted referee checks for recommended candidates with thorough documentation of feedback received. - Strong organisational skills enabling effective coordination of administrative tasks such as interview scheduling and management of candidate queries in a timely manner. - Understanding of Human Rights Act 2019 considerations relevant to public sector recruitment processes. - Knowledge of secure management practices for sensitive personal information in line with QPS security protocols and Information Privacy Act 2009.
