What is our Head of Unit role?

The successful applicant will direct and control the operations of the general dental clinic and provide a high standard of routine and advanced clinical treatment to eligible patients. Other duties include:

- Contributing to the development of Dental Health Services (DHS) Operational Plan and clinical management and treatment strategies and programmes.

- Developing and promoting activities aimed at improving dental health in the community by liaising with dentists, service organisations, education and local authorities and relevant community groups.

- Developing continuing education programmes for clinic staff and implementing in‑house training.

Area profile

DHS is part of the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) and is the largest public dental health service provider in WA, operating statewide from a network of fixed and mobile clinics, funded by the WA Government. DHS provides the School Dental Service for children aged 5‑16 years, General Dental Services to eligible adults with a current health‑care card or pension concession card, subsidy schemes and special dental services.
