Overview

Delivery Director - SAP (0000B1Z6) | Public Sector Senior Executive - Band 1 | Temporary Full-Time up to 29 June 2026

- Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park

About us

The NSW Police Force (NSWPF) is one of the largest police forces in the western world, with more than 20,000 employees, including more than 4,000 administrative employees who support the sworn officers that provide a range of law and order services 24 hours a day, seven days a week to the socially, geographically and culturally diverse community of NSW.

About the role

We have an opportunity for a Delivery Director - SAP to be part of our Major Programs, Technology Communication Services Command team. The Delivery Director will ensure successful delivery of projects/programs and provide support to manage competing pressures between project scope, performance, cost and program risk while meeting stakeholder expectations and longer-term community needs. The Delivery Director provides strategic guidance, resolves complex project challenges, and leads high-level consultations and negotiations to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and expectations.

This role includes an all-inclusive total remuneration package of between $208,400 – $297,250 for a period of up to 29 June 2026 with a possibility of extension beyond 2026.

Join the NSW Police Force as the Delivery Director for the SAP Upgrade Program and lead the exciting transformation of NSWPF’s ERP systems. This role presents a unique opportunity to oversee the transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA operating on protected hyperscaler cloud and transform the Finance and HR functions. The SAP Upgrade Program is bringing the power of SAP S/4HANA and cloud to streamline and automate business processes, improve user experience and access to information, and use the powerful analytical capability this technology offers for faster and better decision making and ultimately support NSWPF operations.

How to Apply

Applications can only be submitted electronically via the I Work for NSW website. To be considered for this role, attach a cover letter (2 pages maximum) and an up-to-date resume that clearly details your skills & experience as relevant to this role. Please do not attach copies of qualifications, certificates or documentation (other than what has been requested) - you can bring these if called for interview.

You must also address each of the following Target Questions (500 word per question) in the text boxes provided in the online application or attach as a separate document.

Target Question 1:

Provide examples of a time when you have led the planning and delivery of a SAP ECC system migration to SAP S/4HANA including a complex Payroll component, and ensuring appropriate testing ahead of going to production. What strategies did you use to ensure delivery within budget and timeline constraints, while maintaining effective management of scope, and specifically to reduce the amount of customisation migrated?

Target Question 2:

Describe how you have built and maintained strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the SAP transformation, especially in terms of adoption of the solution and realisation of the expected business benefits. Provide examples of a time when you led an SAP ECC to S/4HANA upgrade project on client side and had accountability for managing an external service provider and its contracted deliverables. What governance and processes did you establish these relationships and how they enabled you to manage business expectations, ensure quality of outcomes while driving innovation?

Your application must stand on its own merits, and the completeness and relevance of your application will determine if you proceed through to the selection process.

If you require any further information about this opportunity, please contact the hiring manager Chief Inspector Rodney Ormes via 0407 954 273.
