About The Role:
As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will provide daily engineering support for your assigned projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and engineering drawings. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders and take direct responsibility for budgeting, personnel management, and project planning to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understand project scope and technical requirements.
2. Coordinate procurement and construction activities for designated work areas.
3. Provide engineering support and guidance to the project team.
4. Develop work packs, test packs, and estimate site variations.
5. Manage project timelines, ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget.
6. Perform regular audits and tests on materials and processes for compliance with regulations.
7. Develop and monitor KPIs, analysing productivity factors.
8. Interact with clients to interpret and execute their engineering requirements.
9. Collaborate with other departments (HSEQ, quality, commercial, etc.) to integrate project efforts.
10. Ensure field variations are captured and reported on.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar).
2. 5+ years of experience in construction or sustaining capital works including electrical and instrumentation installation.
3. In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards and electrical safety standards (AS/NZS 3000).
4. Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
5. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modelling/drawing software like Hexagon (highly desirable).
8. Experience in construction estimating and cost controlling.
9. Contractor-side experience in E&I construction projects.
10. Knowledge of mining processing and equipment.
