Council of the City of Sydney, Australia black.ai Full time

SafetyCulture is a global technology company that is helping to transform workplaces around the world. Our mission is to help working teams get better every day and our technology platform and products give front line workers a voice and leaders the visibility to make smart decisions when driving safety, quality and continuous improvement.

SafetyCulture is one of the fastest-growing tech companies. Our bold ambition is to reach 100 million users worldwide by 2032. Opportunities to help shape a journey like this do not come around often

We’re looking for a strategic storyteller and cross-channel Communications Manager who can help shape how we communicate inside and outside the business, and find new ways to tell our story across traditional and emerging channels.

How you will spend your time:

- Brainstorming and implementing creative ideas for engaging content that aligns with key brand messages and objectives.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest content trends, formats and channels for SafetyCulture to show up in new ways.
- Briefing, editing, and partnering with in‑house and external copywriters, videographers, editors and influencers/creators to execute on your story direction, ensure their work grabs people’s attention and sings in our style.
- Producing and overseeing a range of content, video and social storytelling for internal and external comms that connect people to our mission.
- Crafting media materials using research insights, product news, expert commentary and customer stories to drive awareness and understanding of SafetyCulture.
- Partnering with teams and leaders across the business to turn complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives and provide clear recommendations of the best channel/s.
- Balancing multiple projects and deadlines without losing sight of quality (or your sense of humour).

About you:

- Have 5+ years of experience in a fast‑paced environment, whether in‑house or agency
- Are a world‑class communicator, with writing as one of your sharpest tools.
- Can bring people and projects together, from stakeholders to freelancers, and keep work moving smoothly.
- Spot the story hiding inside corporate jargon and turn it into something people actually want to read, watch and share.
- Are comfortable with video creation, from scripting and storyboarding to working with editors to nail the message.
- Can use data and insights to inform what content, messaging and channel will drive success.
- Embrace AI as a way to work smarter and scale outputs, without losing the human touch that makes content resonate.
- Are comfortable in a fast‑paced scale‑up where you embrace ambiguity when all the information might not be available.
- Are adaptable and can pivot your approach when required to optimise outcomes.
- Thrive in a team‑first environment, helping others win as much as you focus on your own success.

At SafetyCulture we care about people:

- Equity with high growth potential, and a competitive salary
- Flexible working arrangements, we encourage you to create the best work blend while working from your home and the local SafetyCulture office
- Access to professional and personal training and development opportunities; Hackathons, Workshops, Lunch & Learns
- We encourage involvement in the community, open source work, attending talks and events, and experimenting with new technologies

You’ll also receive other perks such as:

- In‑house Culinary Crew serving up daily breakfast, lunch and snacks
- Wellbeing initiatives such as subsidised fitness programmes, EAP services and generous parental leave policy
- Quarterly celebrations and team events, including the annual Shiplt global offsite
- Table tennis, board games, gym sessions, book club, and pet‑friendly offices

We’re committed to building inclusive teams and cultivating a sense of belonging so our people can bring their whole authentic selves to work each day. We seek to make reasonable adjustments throughout our recruitment process to create an even playing field for all candidates. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the entire SafetyCulture team we’ve built an incredible culture which has seen us recognised as a Best Place to Work in Australia, the US and the UK.
