About Your Opportunity
Reporting to our Lead Electrical Engineer, as an Electrical Engineer, you’ll ensure Seqwater’s electrical and instrumentation work is technically sound, compliant, and fit for purpose. You’ll collaborate across asset lifecycles to maintain and improve engineering standards and lead assurance activities—such as design and risk reviews—to deliver optimal outcomes for Seqwater’s projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide expert electrical engineering advice and troubleshooting across planning, projects, asset management, and operations.
- Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and technical documents to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant infrastructure.
- Review scopes, designs, and business cases, participating in risk and design workshops to ensure best-practice engineering.
- Lead investigations and improvement initiatives, preparing technical reports and endorsing changes to optimise reliability and performance.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline suitable for registration as a RPEQ (minimum 4-year Washington Accord accredited degree, or equivalent as assessed by Engineers Australia).
- Currently registered as an RPEQ or able to obtain registration within 3 months of appointment.
- Extensive experience in electrical and instrumentation systems for water infrastructure or similar industries.
- Proven ability to manage electrical risks and lead safety improvements.
- Strong knowledge of legislation, regulations, and standards for electrical and instrumentation in water supply systems.
This position has a salary range of $132,746.14 - $145,422.62 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
This role will be part of team that works from various office locations, including Ipswich, Brisbane CBD office, and other Seqwater work locations across South East Queensland
