This is a growing and well established engineering consultancy servicing mines, ports and heavy industry. Based in Mackay, they provide high quality engineering solutions to blue chip & ASX listed clients in the Central Queensland region.
With a reputation for technical excellence, their specialist engineering support for major operations includes maintenance and upgrade projects, delivering a consistent and growing workload. They continue to grow through a strategic plan, with many long‑standing employees and high staff retention.
The Opportunity
Here you’ll be intricately involved with mines and ports projects and managing a team with a pipeline of “blue chip” work. Take ownership and put your stamp on the technical side of the business. Grow your career with a “ready to go” team.
Involved in ports, mines & heavy industry, you’ll provide management support whilst managing the day to day needs of teams undertaking structural engineering designs, inspections, investigations and repair designs for a range of clients and client sites.
This will be ideally suited to
1. An experienced Senior Structural Engineer with demonstrated business unit, team management and engineering design skills, or
2. A Principal Structural Engineer with design, technical and people management skills, who is ready to step up to the next level. Future equity may be available for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate resources to execute work on time, budget & quality
- Manage and mentor engineers and drafters
- Provide technical support and guidance to the business
- Coordinate and manage higher level projects
- Manage clients including some business development functions
Key Skills & Attributes
- Impeccable verbal, interpersonal & written communication skills
- High level technical ability in structural design in materials handling
- Bulk materials handling exp. (shiploaders, stacker/reclaimers AS4324)
- FEA modeling exp eg Strand7 and SpaceGass
- Ability to lead and manage engineering teams
- Ability to develop new and foster existing client relationships
- Hold RPEQ and/or CPEng
