About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent of Mechanical Maintenance, the Mechanical Online Coordinator will be responsible for supervising the maintenance team to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant repair and maintenance of all equipment within the processing areas of the Greenbushes site. This position operates on an attractive 8:6 dayshift roster and requires a strong commitment to statutory regulations, operational reliability, and leadership in a dynamic maintenance environment.
Responsibilities
- Interpret company policies to the team and enforce safety regulations;
- Interpret specifications, blueprints and assign duties;
- Suggest improvements within working environment including but not limited to the selection and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of the department;
- Ensure that cost effective maintenance is achieved by deriving and implementing the most appropriate maintenance philosophy and replacement options;
- Identify skills required to meet site requirements and ensure the availability of those skills;
- Act as Appointed Statutory Supervisor;
- On a daily basis, carry out a workplace inspection;
- Conduct daily communications with Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent;
- On a need’s basis, relieve for the Mechanical Maintenance superintendent;
- Ensure daily Take 5, JSA and Safe Work Instruction compliance, sign off and adherence;
- Engage and manage contractors to ensure that work scope goals are met, while also overseeing the deployment and management of contractor labour services;
- Actively promote quality awareness amongst company and contractor personnel;
- Ensure a high level of housekeeping during and after maintenance tasks to ensure a safe work environment for team members;
- Ascertain all training fits in with the departmental requirements and site training matrix; and
- Assist with the development and delivery of shift prestart meetings.
About the Candidate
The following qualification/s are considered desirable for this position:
- Mechanical Trade Certificate;
- Minimum of 7 years post trade experience;
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience;
- Positive attitude towards continuous improvement;
- Ability to work in a team environment, promoting company values;
- Must have proven problem solving, team development and facilitation skills;
- Focus and composure under pressure situations;
- Proactive attitude towards Preventive and Reliability centered maintenance;
- Ability to identify critical spares;
- Ability to interpret technical manuals;
- Decision making and problem‑solving skills;
- Experience in Job Safety Analysis and Toolbox meetings; and
- High level of computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook etc);
