About the role
We’re seeking a Strategic Transport Planner to lead the delivery of integrated transport strategies and initiatives that support safe, accessible and connected travel across Manningham. This role combines strategic project leadership with high-level advocacy—championing Manningham’s transport priorities across Council, government, industry and major infrastructure initiatives, including the North East Link Project. You’ll produce clear, high-quality reports and advice, manage complex strategic projects, and collaborate across teams to influence transport outcomes that reflect community needs and address future growth.

Skills and experience
- Tertiary qualified in transport, planning, land use planning or other relevant field with proven experience in strategy and policy development.
- Proactive and resilient, with the ability to solve complex transport challenges and manage competing demands in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of transport planning issues, trends, and relevant State and Federal policies.
- Skilled in advocacy, able to champion Manningham’s transport needs by researching and articulating community priorities, promoting key initiatives, and engaging stakeholders to influence strategic outcomes.
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills, able to build relationships across all levels and departments of Council and present information clearly and appropriately for diverse audiences.
- Experienced in managing strategic projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and timelines, including preparation and review of key strategic documents.
