Sydney, Australia Accpa Full time

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

Help shape Australia’s clean energy future with Transgrid.

We’re delivering some of the nation’s most critical renewable energy projects — and we’re looking for a passionate professional to drive meaningful social impact.

Be part of a purpose-driven team leading Australia’s clean energy transformation. As Advocacy Manager at Transgrid, you’ll play a vital role in shaping how we engage with governments, regulators, and key stakeholders — ensuring our commercial and customer-focused strategies are well understood and supported in a fast-moving sector.

This newly created role will drive a proactive advocacy agenda, influence policy and regulatory outcomes, and help position Transgrid as a trusted partner in the energy transition.

Lead strategic engagement with government departments, regulators, and industry bodies

Build influential relationships and craft clear, impactful messages on complex issues

Provide expert advice on emerging policy, market, and regulatory trends

Support cross-functional collaboration across Networks, Emerging Projects, and Government Relations

About You

At Transgrid, our core values — Safety, Achievement, Integrity, and Service — are at the heart of everything we do. Our team lives and breathes these values every day, and we look forward to welcoming new colleagues who share the same commitment.

We’re looking for a proactive and strategic professional with strong government networks and experience navigating complex regulatory environments.

You’ll Bring

Tertiary qualifications in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Communications, or a related field

7+ years’ experience in government relations, stakeholder engagement, or policy advocacy — ideally within energy, infrastructure, or regulatory sectors

A proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with government, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders

Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and prepare clear, compelling briefing notes and submissions

A strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate policy trends, assess commercial impacts, and align internal stakeholders around key advocacy positions

Experience in crisis management or public affairs

A solid understanding of the energy industry and regulatory frameworks

Strong networks across government, financial services, or policy environments

Recognition & Reward

At Transgrid, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on Australia’s clean energy future. We offer flexible working arrangements, ongoing professional development, and a supportive, forward-thinking culture.
