About the role

As the Manufacturing Quality Manager, you'll report to the General Manager of Manufacturing and be the primary driver for ensuring that all product produced by DAS (Daikin Australia) Manufacturing meets the highest standards of quality and complies with all relevant regulations or industry standards.

This pivotal role involves setting quality standards and developing and managing the necessary systems, processes, and resources to achieve them. You'll lead and develop the quality team to meet the DAS factory's quality objectives for both production and products under development. You will also be the primary point of contact for resolving issues related to the reliability, performance, build quality, and compliance of DAS manufactured products.

Key responsibilities include:

- Developing, implementing, maintaining, and improving quality systems and procedures to produce best-in-market product quality.
- Leading collaboration between manufacturing operations, service department, and R&D to analyse faults and implement countermeasures.
- Reporting and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect, scrap, rework, and warranty claim.
- Maintaining and enhancing compliance of manufacturing functions to ISO 9001, 14001, and Daikin internal quality standards.
- Managing and supporting the improvement of supplier quality.
- Coaching the quality team for continual improvement and managing their performance.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant safety and environmental ISO standards and conducting regular hazard observations.
- Conducting and managing the monthly DAS product quality committee meeting.
- Supporting new product development and model launch activities.

About you

You're a seasoned quality professional with a strong background in manufacturing who is ready to take ownership of issues and ensure positive outcomes. You would’ve possessed excellent analytical and organisational skills, allowing you to prioritise effectively, set meaningful goals, and execute action plans. Your attention to detail ensures tasks are accomplished accurately and checked in a timely fashion.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience within a similar role or environment (manufacturing, R&D, engineering).
- Leadership experience of directly managing a technical team.
- Degree qualified in engineering or science discipline (Electrical or Mechanical engineering preferred).
- Knowledge of and experience with manufacturing quality standards, systems, processes, and best practice.
- Experience in high volume manufacturing systems and best practices, such as Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, 9001, external auditing requirements, and WH&S/safe working practices in a factory environment.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams to solve complex problems and provide clarity in communication.
