About The Role
We are looking for Youth Lead Practitioners to support adolescents and young adults aged 10–24 as they navigate life with a disability, from adolescence through to early adulthood.
As a Youth Lead Practitioner at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:
- Led the interdisciplinary team that plans a young person’s NDIS funded therapy package, acting as the main contact for adolescent and young adult participants and their families
- Utilised assessment and intervention skills to support youth participants to achieve their educational, personal, social, and working life goals
- Worked within the social model which means you’ll have worked and delivered therapy in diverse settings, from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces and community centres
- Held meaningful, future-focused conversations with participants and their supports
- Empowered participants and their families to develop habits and routines
- Built meaningful relationships with your participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
- Documented, and billed for, each session through our online participant management system
- Attended the weekly team meeting in the Hub, sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs
- You’ll have met with your Team Leader and Therapy Mentor to tap into their clinical knowledge and/or support

To work as a Youth Lead Practitioner, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and registration.
- If you are a Youth Worker, you will have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Youth Work or Community Services and YWA membership
- If you are a Social Worker, you will have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Social Work and AASW membership
- If you are a Specialist Educator, you will have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Special Education and AASE membership
- If you are a Registered Nurse, you will have a Bachelor of Nursing and AHPRA registration
You Will Also Need
- Minimum 12 months experience working with youth aged 10-24
- A positive and flexible approach to work
- Strong communication skills and be a team player
- Commitment to personal and professional growth
- Demonstrated experience working with people with a disability
- Willingness to work to billable targets
- A valid Australian driver’s license
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Working with Children’s Check
