About EMHS
The East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) provides a range of health services across Western Australia, serving more than 790,000 people. Services include tertiary, secondary and specialist health care, emergency and critical care, elective and emergency surgery, general medicine, mental health, inpatient and outpatient services, aged care, palliative care, rehabilitation and women’s, children’s and neonate services.
Role Overview
The Senior Data Scientist will provide advanced technical management of data science and machine learning models across the entire development cycle and lead the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of data science projects. The role includes full lifecycle management of approved data science solutions and models deployed and maintained by EMHS, and delivering high‑level advice and guidance on data science and machine learning. Key responsibilities also involve stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering to understand the data needs of clinical and corporate clients, and contributing to the development of data science skills and techniques across the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead scoping, estimating, planning and execution of data science projects.
- Manage all stages of the data science and model lifecycle for approved solutions.
- Provide high‑level advice and guidance on data science and machine learning.
- Engage stakeholders and gather requirements to meet clinical and corporate data needs.
- Contribute to development of data science skills and techniques across the division.
Eligibility & Conditions
