About the team The Senior Clinician Family Violence supports the integration and sustainability of the Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence (SHRFV) model across metropolitan and rural health services, with a focus on the Parkville Local Health Services Network. Working within the Social Model of Health framework, the role delivers clinical expertise, training, consultation, and leadership in family violence practice, while contributing to system-wide capacity building, policy advocacy, and culturally safe, trauma-and violence informed care. Responsibilities - Delivering clinical education and secondary consultation to support staff responding to family violence - Embedding MARAM and Information Sharing Schemes across the service, identifying practice gaps and solutions - Providing direct clinical responses and contributing to multidisciplinary case planning for patients impacted by family violence - Supporting the Prevention of Violence Against Women (PVAW) Champion Network and contributing to evaluation, quality improvement and risk mitigation activities About you An experienced professional with strong clinical skills and an intersectional, trauma-informed approach, you are self-directed, able to navigate complex situations with composure and professionalism while being capable of empowering others through mentoring, consultation, and training. Your ability to build confidence in others and navigate complex systems makes you a key mentor in this space. You’ll bring with you: - A Bachelor of Social Work (or equivalent qualification) with eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or another relevant professional body. - A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in the family violence sector, with demonstrated expertise in specialist family violence practice and advanced clinical knowledge in complex service delivery environments. - Comprehensive understanding of and training in the MARAM Framework, including risk assessment and safety planning for both victim/survivors and perpetrators (AuFV). - Demonstrated ability to work with women, children and their families presenting with complex needs (e.g. trauma, substance abuse, mental health issues, parenting challenges, disability), and from diverse backgrounds including CALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and LGBTIQA+ communities. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and deliver training and develop resources effectively. - A demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation, while also managing competing priorities, working autonomously, and showing initiative in a dynamic work environment.
