About The Role
This position works as part of the Civil Delivery Team which is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient completion of planned, scheduled and reactive maintenance works for the section through applying specialist skills in the management of infrastructure networks and providing technical expertise during the implementation of maintenance work programs.
This specific role will lead and manage a team of people in the Rural Road team. The role will work from the Dalrymple Road Depot.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
Mandatory
- Certificate III in Civil Construction.
- Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).
- Current ‘MR’ Class Driver's Licence.
- Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) accreditation under the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
- Demonstrated commitment to and practice of a leadership style that supports, motivates and inspires individual and team achievements.
- Experience leading construction personnel in the construction of municipal infrastructure.
- Experience in the construction of Council infrastructure including a detailed knowledge of construction materials and their application.
Desirable
- Certificate associated with the successful completion of the Safe Working Near Live Exposed Parts training course.
- Plant Operators Certificates of Competency for the types and classes of plant utilised in this position.
- First Aid Certificate.
- A high level of oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively and professionally engage with and influence others.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to develop and maintain both internal and external work relationships.
- Sound problem solving skills with the ability to achieve creative, effective and efficient solutions to challenges and changes.
- An ability to perform basic numerical calculations and process documentation.
- An ability to conduct basic survey and set out tasks.
- Demonstrated previous experience in the maintenance of municipal road infrastructure, or municipal concrete and drains maintenance, or municipal lines and signs maintenance.
