Our highly collaborative Treasury and Advisory team has the privilege of working on many and varied matters in support of Sanitarium Health Food Company, as well as a range of other entities including international FMCG businesses, health and wellness service businesses and joint ventures within our Group.

About the Role

We are now looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our legal strategy and partnering with the business at a senior level.

Working closely with, and reporting to, our General Counsel, the Senior Legal Counsel will provide high calibre legal services across the Group. You will have exposure to a wide variety of legal matters including:

- Corporate transactions and joint ventures

- Commercial contracts and negotiations

- Regulatory and compliance matters

- Governance and policy development

- Cross-border projects in a global FMCG environment

You will also be expected to take initiative in driving legal process improvements, leading designated projects, and supporting the overall effectiveness of the Group Legal function.

The key accountabilities for this role

- Provide exceptional and timely legal advice, proactively managing risk.

- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contractual documentation independently.

- Support governance and compliance initiatives.

- Contribute to the development and delivery of internal training.

- Assist with management of the Group legal panel and oversight of outsourced matters.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration.

- We are looking for a high-performing legal professional who can combine technical expertise with commercial acumen and strong relationship skills.

You will have

- A Law Degree and admission to practice in NSW (or relevant jurisdiction).

- At least 7 years PQE, with significant in-house or secondment experience.

- Strong track record in commercial contracts and corporate transactions.

- Exceptional drafting, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.

- The ability to manage competing deadlines while delivering high-quality outcomes.

- Initiative, accountability and a solutions-focused mindset.
