About our partnership:

Stride is proud to be delivering program provision with the Western Sydney area for the Parramatta Medicare Mental Health Centre. The Medicare Mental Health Centres, formerly Head to Health, are an important part of the Australia’s reformed mental health and wellbeing system.

The Medicare Mental Health Centre is supported by funding from Wentwest Primary Health Network through the Australian Government’s PHN Program.Parramatta Medicare Mental Health Centre provides the community with a free, safe and welcoming space to access mental health advice, supports and services through multidisciplinary approaches. Walk-ins will be welcomed, services are confidential, and no appointment or referral will be required.

About the service:

The services in Parramatta is funded by the Australian Government, to provide a streamlined approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.The service is tailored to the needs of the community in regional NSW and provides a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support.

The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress, providing an alternative to presenting to the Emergency Department for low risk individuals, and allowing them to access support from trained mental health professionals within their community, outside a clinical setting.

Role overview:

The purpose of this role is to provide career development advice, vocational and education assistance to consumers, in tandem with the Medicare Mental Health Centre team, to ensure that they can achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and employment.

Requirements:

- Completion of a relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience working with people with mental health needs or disabilities
- Knowledge or experience in employment services or other social inclusion services
- Knowledge of employment related services, relevant legislation and local labour market trends
- Knowledge of local education providers and the admissions systems
- Sound knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders
- Well-developed computer, technology and administration skills
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
- Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
- Must have a driver’s license
