We currently have the following positions available, commencing Term 1, 2026:

- 1 x 12 month fixed term, full-time position with possible extension and/or permanency
- 1 x 6 month fixed term, full-time position with possible extension and/or permanency

Safety Bay Senior High School (SHS) motto — Imagine, Believe, Achieve — reflects our commitment to nurturing every student’s journey and providing a supportive, inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to dream big and strive for excellence.

As an educator at Safety Bay Senior High School, you will collaborate with passionate colleagues committed to delivering exceptional education and transforming students’ lives. We aim to provide every student a pathway to a successful future by building relationships with families, communities, agencies and industry to support educational outcomes.

We are seeking two dedicated and suitably qualified educators to join our Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Pathways Career Team. These positions are offered at 0.6-1.0 FTE and represent an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing area of strategic focus within the school.

Our aim is to provide students with unique learning opportunities that help them succeed in school and in their future careers by embedding career development within learning areas that:

- Encourage student aspirations and achievements
- Help connect current learning, work and life opportunities
- Support students to make informed choices and take personal responsibility
- Provide access to relevant and timely information and networks

The successful applicants will support the delivery of Career and Employability programs to senior school students, delivery of certificate qualifications, Pathways lessons for Years 7 and 8, and assist students in making informed post-school decisions. These roles align with the school’s Business Plan priorities for embedding career development across learning areas.

The roles also support students in the Industry Links Pathway, enabling attendance at school three days per week while completing nationally recognised qualifications and participating in structured workplace learning aligned with their career interests.

You should ideally demonstrate a strong commitment and capacity to:

- Plan, teach and deliver engaging lessons across Lower and Senior School courses
- Develop curriculum programs that promote inquiry, debate, and critical and creative thinking
- Use and create high-quality learning materials and digital resources
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with policy and SCSA requirements
- Engage in moderation, feedback, and professional collaboration with colleagues
- Build positive relationships with students that foster respect, inclusion and achievement

Candidates should be confident in interpreting and using school and system-level data to inform practice, with a sound understanding of career pathway options, particularly within the local context (e.g., employment trends, training providers, community agencies).

While a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or the Enhanced Skill Set is highly regarded, applicants without this qualification are encouraged to apply.
