Organisation Overview

We are working with a NSW State Government agency who are looking for several Project Directors for a large-scale capital works project across the state.

The Role

The Project Director will lead project teams to deliver complex infrastructure projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality standards. This leadership role spans the entire project lifecycle, from planning and procurement through to delivery and evaluation, while managing diverse stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

- Leading complex projects across planning, design, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Managing multiple stakeholder groups
- Providing expert advice on project planning, delivery, and evaluation
- Building strong partnerships with consultants and project teams to foster collaboration
- Identifying and addressing risks, variances, and challenges proactively
- Overseeing contracts, documentation, reporting, and benefits realisation

About you

The role requires proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, alongside strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.

Key requirements

- Tertiary qualifications in Health, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
- Extensive experience in capital works project planning and delivery
- Experience coordinating service or facility planning
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to lead in dynamic environments, balancing competing priorities and risks
