
Assistant Director, Major Projects

Duties will also include liaising with Major Projects Canberra (the delivery agency for major projects), representing the Directorate in negotiations and discussions with a range of internal and external stakeholders, and preparing all project related correspondence on the progress of infrastructure projects.
Applicants will require a knowledge and understanding of major infrastructure projects, experience in developing and managing a project program, and well-developed communication, negotiation and representational skills.

**Eligibility/Requirements**
**Mandatory**:
- Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or hold a relevant building degree; or have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.
- A high degree of competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
**Desirable**:
- Workplace Health and Safety Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain; **General Construction Induction Card (**_White_** Card)**:
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the _Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011_ is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au)
A medical or police check may be requested as part of this recruitment process.
**Notes**:There are several temporary positions available immediately for 12 months.
An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
Please note this position involves working from home and/or from a city office which is designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
